Pam Muñoz Ryan (born December 25, 1951) is an American author of children's and young adult literature, best known for her multicultural novels such as Esperanza Rising, Echo, and The Dreamer. She has received numerous accolades, including the Newbery Honor for Echo, two Pura Belpré Medals, the Kirkus Prize, and the 2024 Children's Literature Legacy Award.
