William W. WarnerAmerican
William W. Warner (1920–2008) was an American biologist and writer, best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning nonfiction book Beautiful Swimmers: Watermen, Crabs and the Chesapeake Bay (1976), which chronicled life among Chesapeake Bay crabbers. A Princeton graduate (1943), he served as a WWII aerial photo analyst in the Pacific and later worked in foreign service public relations before turning to natural history writing. Read more →
