Igor Oleynikov is a Russian illustrator and former animator born on January 4, 1953, in Lubertsy near Moscow. After studying chemical engineering and briefly working as an engineer, he joined Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1979, contributing to acclaimed animated films like "The Mystery of the Third Planet," before transitioning to book illustration in 1986, where he has created dynamic artwork for over 80 children's books. He won the 2018 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration, one of the highest honors in children's literature.
