Nicolas Sidjakov (1924-1993) was a Latvian-born American illustrator and commercial artist, best known for his children's picture books including Baboushka and the Three Kings, for which he won the 1961 Caldecott Medal, as well as The Friendly Beasts, The Emperor and the Drummer Boy, and Harlequin and Mother Goose.
