Pierre Lemaitre (born 1951) is a French novelist and screenwriter best known for his crime novels featuring Commandant Camille Verhoeven, such as Irène, Alex, and Camille, and for his Prix Goncourt-winning novel Au revoir là-haut (The Great Swindle), the first of the Les Enfants du désastre trilogy. Originally a literature teacher, he transitioned to full-time writing, earning multiple international awards including three CWA International Daggers for his translated works.
