Arctic Dreams

Barry Holstun Lopez (1945-2020) was an American author, essayist, nature writer, and fiction writer renowned for his humanitarian and environmental works exploring landscapes like the Arctic and human-nature relationships, with notable books including Arctic Dreams (1986, National Book Award winner) and Of Wolves and Men (1978, National Book Award finalist). Over a 50-year career, he visited more than 80 countries and contributed to publications such as Harper's Magazine, National Geographic, and The Paris Review.
