Mark MerlisAmerican
Mark Merlis (1950-2017) was an American novelist and health policy analyst best known for his acclaimed gay fiction exploring themes of desire, power, and gay life in 20th-century America. His notable works include American Studies (1994), which won the Ferro-Grumley Award and Los Angeles Times Book Prize for First Fiction; An Arrow's Flight (1998), a Lambda Literary Award winner; Man About Town (2003); and JD (2015).
