U.S. National Book Award for Nonfiction for his debut book An American in Italy, and his works include travel books like Easter in Sicily, novels such as The Whistling Zone, and plays including Men to the Sea produced on Broadway.National Book Foundation Kubly worked as a journalist, music critic for Time magazine, and taught at universities including the University of Wisconsin–Parkside.
