Jonathan B. Keates (born 1946) is an English biographer, novelist, and travel writer best known for his novel Allegro Postillions (1983), which won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the Hawthornden Prize, and biographies such as those of Handel, Purcell, and Stendhal. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature since 1992, he has also authored acclaimed travel books on Italy and served as Chairman of the Venice in Peril Fund. Read more →
