Marc SimontAmerican
Marc Simont (1915–2013), a Paris-born American artist and illustrator, is renowned for illustrating over 100 children's books, including the Nate the Great series and James Thurber's The 13 Clocks. He won the 1957 Caldecott Medal for A Tree Is Nice by Janice May Udry and received Caldecott Honors for The Happy Day (1950) and The Stray Dog (2001), which he also authored.
