Suzanne BerneAmerican
Suzanne Berne (born 1961) is an American novelist whose debut novel A Crime in the Neighborhood (1997) won the 1999 Orange Prize for Fiction. She studied at Wesleyan University and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, and has taught creative writing at Harvard University, Wellesley College, and Boston College, where she is an associate professor of English.
