About Yoon Choi

Yoon Choi is an American writer born in Korea who moved to the United States at the age of three; she grew up in Long Island, New York. She earned degrees from Johns Hopkins University (BA and MA) and was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University (2017-2019), with her story "The Art of Losing" selected for The Best American Short Stories 2018. Her debut short story collection Skinship (2021) won the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and the Whiting Award in Fiction (2024), and was named a best book of the year by NPR, Kirkus Reviews, and others.
