Yoko Tanaka

Yoko Tanaka is a Japan-born illustrator and artist based in Barcelona, known for her surreal, emotionally rich paintings and children's book illustrations featuring human-animal hybrids in dreamlike settings. She studied law at Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan before earning a BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and has illustrated notable titles including Dandelion’s Dream, The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo, Sparrow Girl, and Theodosia series by R. L. LaFevers. Her career highlights include multiple awards such as from the Society of Illustrators and Bologna Children's Book Fair.
