About Winston Graham
Winston Mawdsley Graham (1908–2003) was an English novelist best known for his Poldark series of 12 historical novels set in Cornwall, beginning with Ross Poldark in 1945 and concluding with Bella Poldark in 2002. Born in Manchester, he published his first novel in 1934 and authored over 40 works, including suspense thrillers like Marnie (1961), adapted by Alfred Hitchcock, and The Walking Stick (1967). A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and Chairman of the Society of Authors, he was awarded an OBE in 1983. WinstonGraham.org
