About William S. White

William S. White (1905–1994) was an American journalist and author who began his career at the Austin Statesman and Associated Press before becoming a political correspondent for the New York Times from 1945 to 1958, where he served as chief congressional correspondent. NYT Obituary He won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography in 1955 for The Taft Story and authored notable works like Citadel: The Story of the United States Senate, along with biographies of Franklin D.
