Wil Haygood

Wil Haygood is an American journalist and author, born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1954. His books include The Butler, Showdown, and Tigerland. The War Within a War, published by Knopf, was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award for Nonfiction. He received the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award and is a Guggenheim fellow and professor at Miami University.
