Wendy S. Walters

Wendy S. Walters is an American essayist, poet, and critic. She is the author of Multiply/Divide and Troy, Michigan. A Dead White, published by Scribner, was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award for Nonfiction. She is an associate professor of nonfiction at Columbia University's School of the Arts and has received fellowships from Creative Capital, NYFA, and Mass MoCA. She lives in New York City.
