About Uzodinma Iweala

Uzodinma Iweala (born 1982) is a Nigerian-American author, medical doctor, and nonprofit executive best known for his debut novel Beasts of No Nation (2005), which was adapted into an award-winning film, and subsequent works like Speak No Evil (2018) and nonfiction Our Kind of People (2012). He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 2004 with a degree in English and American Literature, earned an MD from Columbia in 2011, and has held leadership roles including CEO of The Africa Center.
