Tracey Scott Wilson is an American playwright and television writer born in Newark, New Jersey in 1967. She earned a BA in English from Rutgers University and an MA in English Literature from Temple University, beginning her playwriting career after initially attempting fiction. Notable works include the plays Buzzer, The Good Negro, and The Story, as well as television contributions to The Americans (earning Emmy and Peabody recognition) and the screenplay for the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect.
