About Toby Olson
Toby Olson (born August 17, 1937, Berwyn, Illinois) is an American poet and novelist known for his extensive body of work in both genres, including over 20 poetry collections such as We Are the Fire and Human Nature, and novels like Seaview, winner of the 1983 PEN/Faulkner Award. He served as a surgical technician in the U.S. Navy, earned degrees from Occidental College and Long Island University, co-founded the Aspen Writers' Workshop, and taught at institutions including Temple University.
