About Tim Parks

Timothy Harold Parks (born 1954) is a British novelist, nonfiction author, and translator from Italian to English, who has lived in Italy since 1981. Notable novels include the Booker-shortlisted Europa (1997) and award-winning debut Tongues of Flame (1986, Betty Trask and Somerset Maugham Awards), alongside nonfiction works like Teach Us to Sit Still (Wellcome Book Prize shortlist) and A Season with Verona (William Hill Sports Book shortlist). He has translated major Italian authors such as Italo Calvino, Alberto Moravia, and Machiavelli, winning the John Florio Prize twice, and contributed essays to the London Review of Books and New York Review of Books.
