About Tibor Fischer
Tibor Fischer (born 1959) is a British novelist and short-story writer of Hungarian descent, born in Stockport, England, to parents who fled Hungary after the 1956 revolution. He studied Latin and French at Peterhouse, Cambridge, and gained prominence with his debut novel Under the Frog (1992), which won the Betty Trask Prize and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, while Granta named him one of the 20 best young British writers in 1993. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature since 2003, his notable works include The Thought Gang, The Collector Collector, and Voyage to the End of the Room.
