About Thomas K. McCraw

Thomas K. McCraw (1940-2012) was an American business historian born in Corinth, Mississippi. He earned a BA from the University of Mississippi in 1962, served as a U.S. Navy officer, obtained a PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1970, taught at the University of Texas at Austin, and joined Harvard Business School in 1978 as Isidor Straus Professor of Business History, Emeritus, where he created the influential MBA course "Creating Modern Capitalism." His notable works include the Pulitzer Prize-winning Prophets of Regulation (1984), Prophet of Innovation (2007), and The Founders and Finance (2012), focusing on economic regulation, entrepreneurs, and business history.
