About Telford Taylor

Telford Taylor (1908-1998) was an American lawyer, professor, and brigadier general best known as chief U.S. prosecutor in the 12 Nuremberg Military Tribunals after World War II, following his role as assistant to Robert H. Jackson in the initial International Military Tribunal. He worked in New Deal agencies, including as general counsel for the Federal Communications Commission, criticized McCarthyism, defended civil liberties cases, and opposed U.S. actions in Vietnam. His notable nonfiction works include The Anatomy of the Nuremberg Trials, Grand Inquest, Nuremberg and Vietnam, and Munich: The Price of Peace.
