Tanaïs (née Tanwi Nandini Islam, born 1982) is an American writer and perfumer of Bangladeshi descent who grew up across the US before settling in Brooklyn. They are the author of the novel Bright Lines (2015), a finalist for several debut fiction prizes including the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, and the memoir In Sensorium: Notes for My People (2022), winner of the Kirkus Prize for nonfiction.
