About Tamer Institute for Community Education

The Tamer Institute for Community Education is a Palestinian non-profit organization founded in 1989 during the first intifada to promote reading and education among children and youth amid political challenges. It publishes children's and young adult books, runs writing competitions like "My First Book," and won the 2009 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for its pioneering work in children's literature.
