Takami Itō

Takami Itō (born April 5, 1971, in Kobe, Japan) is a Japanese author who graduated from Waseda University. He won multiple literary prizes, including the Bungei Prize (1995), Shōgakukan Children's Publications Culture Prize (2000), Jōji Hirata Literature Prize, and the prestigious Akutagawa Prize in 2006 for his novel Hachigatsu no rojō ni suteru (Abandoned on an August Road).English
