About Takahiro Ueda

Takahiro Ueda is a Japanese novelist born in 1979 in Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture, who graduated from Waseda University with a degree in law. He gained prominence with awards including the 2013 Shinchō Newcomer Award for Sun (Taiyō), the 2015 Mishima Yukio Prize for My Lover (Watashi no Koibito), the 2019 Akutagawa Prize for his science-fiction novel Nimrod (Nimuroddo), and subsequent honors like the 2022 Kawabata Yasunari Literature Prize.
