About Tade Thompson
Tade Thompson is a British-Nigerian author and psychiatrist known for his Rosewater trilogy, set in a near-future Nigeria where an alien biodome has transformed society. He won the Arthur C. Clarke Award for Rosewater (2019) and the Nommo Award (Africa's leading SF prize). Born in London to Yoruba parents from Nigeria, Thompson works as a psychiatrist in Britain while writing fiction that draws deeply on West African culture, history, and his professional knowledge of mental illness. The Rosewater trilogy was praised for its original world-building, its exploration of African identity, and its sophisticated engagement with colonialism and consciousness. He has also written Making Wolf, Far from the Light of Heaven, and Jini: The Gnomic Verses. Thompson lives and works in the UK.
