Thomas Coraghessan Boyle (born December 2, 1948) is an American novelist and short story writer known for his satirical novels and stories exploring environmental themes, the baby boom generation, and human nature's excesses. Since the mid-1970s, he has published over 30 novels—including PEN/Faulkner Award winner World's End (1987) and Prix Médicis Étranger winner The Tortilla Curtain (1995)—and more than 150 short stories, earning numerous O. Henry Awards, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and induction into the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
