About Sylvia Legris

Sylvia Legris (born 1960) is a Canadian poet originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, now living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is best known for her poetry collection Nerve Squall (2005), which won the 2006 Griffin Poetry Prize and Pat Lowther Award. Other notable works include The Hideous Hidden (2016), Garden Physic (2021), and The Principle of Rapid Peering (2024), with poems published in The New Yorker, Conjunctions, and Granta. She served as editor at Grain magazine from 2008–2011 and has received further accolades like Pushcart Prize nominations.
