About Suji Kwock Kim

Suji Kwock Kim (born 1969) is a Korean-American-British poet and playwright educated at Yale University, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, Stanford University, and as a Fulbright Scholar at Seoul National University and Yonsei University. Her family roots trace to North Korea, with her maternal great-grandfather co-founding the Korean Language Society during Japanese occupation. She is best known for her poetry collection Notes from the Divided Country, which won the Walt Whitman Award, Addison Metcalf Award, and other honors, and her work has appeared in major publications like The New York Times and The Paris Review.
