About Sue Grafton

Sue Taylor Grafton (1940-2017) was an American author best known for her "alphabet series" of detective novels featuring private investigator Kinsey Millhone, beginning with "A" Is for Alibi (1982) and concluding with "Y" Is for Yesterday (2017). Born in Louisville, Kentucky, to a mystery novelist father, she initially wrote screenplays before achieving success with the series, which topped bestseller lists and earned multiple awards including Shamus, Anthony, and Edgar Awards.
