About Stuart M. Kaminsky
Stuart M. Kaminsky (1934-2009) was an American mystery writer and film professor born in Chicago. He authored over 60 novels, best known for four series: Toby Peters (Hollywood detective, 24 books), Porfiry Rostnikov (Moscow inspector, 16 books), Abe Lieberman (Chicago cop, 10 books), and Lew Fonesca (6 books). A former film professor at Northwestern and Florida State universities, past president of Mystery Writers of America, he won the 1989 Edgar Award for A Cold Red Sunrise and the 2006 Grand Master Award.
