Steve Cavanagh

Steve Cavanagh is a Northern Irish crime fiction author known for his Eddie Flynn legal thriller series. He won the CWA Gold Dagger for Thirteen (2018), a clever thriller in which a serial killer manipulates his way onto a jury. The novel was acclaimed for its ingenious premise and sharp courtroom drama. Cavanagh worked as a lawyer in Belfast before beginning his fiction career. His Eddie Flynn series, beginning with The Defence (2015), features a former con-man turned criminal defense attorney in New York City. The series is known for its slick plotting, dark humor, and insider legal knowledge. Thirteen was particularly praised for its innovative structure and was a major bestseller in the UK and Ireland. Cavanagh has continued to publish successful novels in the Flynn series, including Fifty-Fifty and Twisted. He lives in Northern Ireland.
