Stephen Wright

Stephen Wright (born 1946 in Warren, Pennsylvania) is an American novelist known for his surrealistic imagery and dark comedy. A Vietnam War veteran who served at Phu Bai Combat Base, he earned an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and has taught at Princeton, Brown, and The New School. He has received a Whiting Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Lannan Literary Fellowship.
