Simon Schama

Sir Simon Schama is an English historian and art critic born in 1945 in London, specializing in art history, Dutch history, Jewish history, and French history. He gained prominence with his 1989 book Citizens: A Chronicle of the French Revolution and has authored notable works including The Embarrassment of Riches and Landscape and Memory, while also hosting acclaimed BBC series such as A History of Britain and The Power of Art. A professor at Columbia University, he has received honors like the Wolfson History Prize, CBE, and knighthood.
