About Sigrid Undset

Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) was a Danish-born Norwegian novelist best known for her historical fiction, particularly the trilogy Kristin Lavransdatter (1920-1922). She began with contemporary realist novels before shifting to medieval Norwegian settings, converted to Catholicism in 1924, and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1928 for her powerful descriptions of Northern life during the Middle Ages.
