Shubha Sunder

Shubha Sunder is an Indian writer born and raised in Bangalore who moved to the US for college at Bryn Mawr (physics major, creative writing minor) and earned an MFA from Boston University. Her debut short story collection Boomtown Girl (2021) won the St. Lawrence Book Award, and her novel Optional Practical Training (2025, Graywolf Press) won the New American Voices Award and a Whiting Award.
