About Sherwin Bitsui

Sherwin Bitsui is a Navajo poet born in 1975 in White Cone, Arizona. He is the author of poetry collections including Flood Song (2009), which won the American Book Award and PEN Open Book Award, Dissolve (2018), and Shapeshift (2003), and his work explores themes at the intersection of Navajo tradition and contemporary life. He has received fellowships from the Lannan Foundation, Native Arts & Culture Foundation, and a Whiting Award, and teaches at Northern Arizona University.
