About Sheila Callaghan

Sheila Callaghan (born 1973) is an American playwright and screenwriter from Queens, New York, who emerged from the 1990s RAT movement. Known for her subversively penetrating and whimsically eloquent plays like Dead City, Crumble (Lay Me Down Justin Timberlake), and her most well-known work Women Laughing Alone With Salad, she has received the Whiting Award, Princess Grace Award, and nominations for Golden Globe and WGA awards for her television work on series such as Shameless and Casual. She is a founding member of The Kilroys and has taught playwriting at several universities.Sheila Callaghan
