Sheena Porter

Sheena Porter (1935-2010) was a British author renowned for her children's novels set in the landscapes of the Welsh Marches. She worked as a librarian in Leicester, Nottingham, and Shropshire before achieving literary success, most notably winning the 1964 Carnegie Medal for her book Nordy Bank. Her works are celebrated for their atmospheric portrayal of actual places, rich characterization, and integration of regional history and folklore.
