Sharon Creech (born July 29, 1945, in South Euclid, Ohio) is an American author of children's novels who taught English in England and Switzerland before returning to the U.S. in 1998. She achieved major acclaim with Walk Two Moons, winner of the 1995 Newbery Medal, and Ruby Holler, which earned her the 2002 Carnegie Medal, making her the first American and first person to win both awards.
