Sharon Bell Mathis (born 1937) is an American author and librarian renowned for her children's and young adult books that celebrate Black family life and consciousness. Notable works include The Hundred Penny Box, a Newbery Honor winner, Ray Charles, which earned the Coretta Scott King Award, and Teacup Full of Roses, a New York Times Outstanding Book of the Year. She earned degrees from Morgan State College and Catholic University, worked as a teacher and librarian, and contributed as a columnist for Ebony Jr! House.
