Shamim Sarif

Shamim Sarif (born 1969 in London) is a British novelist, screenwriter, and film director of Indian South African heritage, whose parents emigrated from South Africa to escape apartheid. She gained acclaim with her debut novel The World Unseen (2001), winner of the Betty Trask Award, which she adapted into a film selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by adaptations of I Can't Think Straight and Despite the Falling Snow. Her recent works include the action-thriller The Athena Protocol series, and she has directed numerous TV episodes while co-founding Enlightenment Productions.
