About Sarah Manguso

Sarah Manguso (born 1974) is an American writer and poet raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She earned a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and has taught creative writing at institutions including Pratt Institute, The New School, Antioch University, and New England College. Her notable works include poetry collections The Captain Lands in Paradise (2002) and Siste Viator (2006); memoirs The Two Kinds of Decay (2008) and Ongoingness (2015); and novels Very Cold People (2022) and Liars (2024). Career highlights include the Rome Prize (2008), Guggenheim Fellowship (2012), and publications in Harper's, The Paris Review, and Best American Poetry.
