About Rudolf Eucken

Rudolf Christoph Eucken (1846–1926) was a German philosopher who received the 1908 Nobel Prize in Literature for developing an idealistic philosophy of life emphasizing ethical activism and the spiritual dimension of human existence. Born in Aurich, he studied at Göttingen and Berlin, taught at Basel and Jena universities, and authored major works like The Problem of Human Life as Viewed by the Great Thinkers and Main Currents of Modern Thought.
