R.S. Jones

Robert S. Jones (1954–2001) was an American novelist and editor born in Santa Monica, California. He published two novels, Force of Gravity (1991) and Walking on Air (1995), and short stories in anthologies like Best American Gay Fiction 1996; he received the 1992 Whiting Award for emerging writers. As an editor at HarperCollins, rising to Editor in Chief, he was thanked and dedicated to by authors including Ann Patchett, Russell Banks, and Richard Bausch.
