Roderick James Nugent "Rory" Stewart (born 1973) is a British author, academic, diplomat, and former politician who served as a Conservative MP for Penrith and The Border from 2010 to 2019 and held ministerial roles including Secretary of State for International Development in 2019. His career highlights include diplomatic postings in Indonesia, Montenegro, and Iraq, founding the Turquoise Mountain Foundation in Afghanistan, and teaching grand strategy at Yale University.
