About Rohinton Mistry

Rohinton Mistry (born 1952) is an Indian-born Canadian writer of Parsi descent who emigrated from Bombay to Canada in 1975. His acclaimed novels, including Such a Long Journey (1991), A Fine Balance (1995), and Family Matters (2002), explore Parsi life in India amid political turmoil, poverty, and family struggles; each was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. He has won numerous awards, such as the Giller Prize, Governor General's Award, and Neustadt International Prize for Literature (2012).
